SEA Groups Ltd holds the US Patent for retrofitting any gas/electrical/propane water heater into solar water heater, which provides an effective and efficient method to build a clean solar energy hot water system. The retrofitting is an easy task to achieve: two people one weekend project, which will greatly reduce the Carbon emission created by burning gas to heat water, benefit for economy and environment.
The retrofitting use the existing tanks, and the existing gas/propane or electrical will be the back-up energy after the change, when the water heater will mostly use solar energy to heat water (above 70% depending on collector size and the location). Usually there will be 100% solar heating during Summer season sunny State.
For existing 40G size water heater, one collector system could be used; for 50G size water heater, use two collectors system for most area; for 80G size water heater, use three collectors system.
SEA's retrofitted solar water heater system is a real working solar system, which has been proved by thousands of applications in North America for the past decades.
The retrofitting system kit include:
- 1 SEA-FZ58-18
- 1 SEA-SC19-10
- 1 Stainless circulation pump, 90W, 3/4" flange
- 2 Check valve, 3/4"
- 2 Ball valve, 3/4"
- 12 Copper fittings (coupling, 90 Elbow, Tee, etc.)
Optional add-on:
- 2" fiber glass, aluminum thin cover insulation
- 40 foot copper pipe 3/4"
- In-house insulation materials (fiber glass tape, pipe form)
